Inside sources from the Liberal Party have revealed that Justin Trudeau is expected to resign as prime minister early this week.
OTTAWA, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) -- Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to resign early this week, after months of abysmal polling for the Liberal Party.
According to three inside sources who spoke to The Globe and Mail, Trudeau's resignation may come as early as Monday despite the prime minister’s repeated claims that he will run in the fall 2025 election.
"The sources stressed that they don’t know definitely when Mr. Trudeau will announce his plans to leave but said they expect it will happen before a key national caucus meeting on Wednesday," the article stated.
"One of the sources, who spoke recently to the Prime Minister, said Mr. Trudeau realizes he needs to make an announcement before he meets the Liberal caucus so it doesn’t look like he was forced out by his own MPs," it continued.
The sources stated that it is not known if Trudeau would step down immediately or wait for the Liberal Party to select a new leader.
Trudeau has served as Canada’s prime minister since 2013, winning three consecutive elections. However, predictions in recent months indicate a massive Conservative victory as Canadians appear to have tired of Trudeau's radical agendas, including pushing abortion, climate regulations, and the LGBT ideology on children.
News of Trudeau's potential resignation comes just a few weeks after both his Housing Minister Sean Fraser and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland left the Liberal government.
